From the time of arrival we offer various services to look after our students and ensure that they have a smooth transition to life in Australia.
Student Support Team
The Student Support Team includes the Student Administration Officer, Student Liaison Officer and program coordinators. The team deals with academic, general, personal and other student welfare issues. All advice and matters dealt by the team are treated as professional and confidential and provided at no cost at all. If the team is not able to advice on certain matters, students will be referred to professional external advice at no cost.
· Academic Issues
The Student Administration Officer, program coordinator and trainers provide guidance and counselling support on academic issues in addition to monitoring academic progress, implementation of intervention strategies and reassessments.
· Applying for course credits
Students may apply for course credit(s) from previous studies (Recognition of Prior Learning - RPL) prior to enrolling at Yorke Institute. The information on Course Credit/ Recognition of Prior Learning Policy (RPL) can be obtained from the Student Administration Officer. If you interested to find out about the credits granted at Yorke Institute, submit your application to info@yorkeinstitute.com
· Counselling Services
Counselling services for students includes:
Health, stress and matters that may affect welfare of the student
Complaints
Career and jobs
Pathway to degree studies
Support to apply for extension of visa or study loan
· Personal / Social issues
Students have access to the Student Support Team through normal business hours of 9a.m.until 5p.m. For emergency email info@yorkeinstitute.com.au and the relevant staff will respond immediately within 24 hours of receiving the email.
· Medical and other professional issues
The Student Administration Office has a list of medical professionals/other services within access from the Institute’s location. This information is available to all students.
· Social Programs
Social events will be organised to allow all students enrolled with Yorke Institute to mingle and socialise. These events may range from cultural and sightseeing events, to dinners, excursions, competitions and sporting events. Contact the Student Liaison Officer for more information or your student representatives.
· Legal Issues
Yorke Institute is able to refer students to appropriate legal practitioners for legal advice pertaining to personal matters at no cost. However, for reference to solicitors in specific areas please contact the Law Institute on 9607 9311.
